OVERSEAS CASUALTIES
KILLED AND WOUNDED
Previously reported missing, Pilot Officer A. O'Brien is now stated to have been killed in action. He was a son of Mrs. L. O'Brien, of 29, Louvaln Avenue, Mount Roskill. Pilot Officer O'Brien was born in South Africa and came to New Zealand as a child, receiving his education at the Seddon Memorial Technical College. Lieutenant R. B. Abbott, the youngest son of Mr. R. Atkinson Abbott, of Remuera, is reported wounded. His wife is Mrs. Margot Abbott. Aged 23, he was educated at King's College, after which he joined the staff of the New Zealand Insurance Company, Limited. He represented College Rifles at Rugby football and was a member of the Remuera Lawn Tennis Club. Advice has been received by Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Robertson, of 81, Gribble-Hirst Road, Sandringham, that their son, Gunner Harry (Pal) Robertson. 2nd N.Z.E.F., is wounded. Aged 28, he was born in Auckland and educated at Te Kuiti. Before enlisting at the outbreak of war he was farming at Oparure, Te Kuiti.
