Private E. (ted) H. L. Williams, reported killed in action, was the elder ion of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Williams, of Manurewa. He was 22 years of age, and educated at the Mount Albert, Kowhai and Te Hoe Schools. He was a well-known footballer, and played for the Te Hoe, Otorohanga and North Shore Rugby Clubs also the Papakura Rugby League Club. Before leaving New Zealand in the armed forces he was in the employ of the Public Works Department.
