LEAGUE AMALGAMATION
XORTH SHOKK JOINS TP WITH MABIST A further stage in the amalgamation of senior league teams was announced at the weekly meeting of Auckland Rugby Board of Control last evening by Mr. J. \V. Watson, tlie chairman. He said that North Shore had now agreed to join in the scheme for the duration of the war. The North Shore plavers would lie playing next Saturday with Marist Old Boys, the two clubs having had a most successful meeting together. Ponsonby notified the board that its junior schoolboys and seven-a-side teams was being coached s by a woman. This, it was stated, was perhaps unique in the world of sport.
Mr. J. E. Knowling. the treasurer, presented an interim report, which the chairman thought was most satisfactory.
Senior arrangements for Saturdav are—Otahuhu-Oitv v. Newton-Mount Albert. Cnrlaw P.irk No. 1. :i p.m.. S. Billman: Ponsonby v. Richmond. Carlaw Park No. 1. 1.45 p.m.. F. Pope: Manukau v. North Shore-Marist, Carlaw Park No. 2, 3 p.m., G. Kelly.
