UNITED NATIONS DAY
(0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. The military authorities have assumed responsibility for the United Nations Day Parade, embracing all units, in Whangarei on Saturday. The Mayor, Mr. W. Jones, announced at a special meeting of the Borough Council late yesterday that no public holiday was being observed. The parade will take place at 11 a.m., the afternoon being considered unsuitable. General Barraclough will take the salute.
