ROAD FATALITIES
TWENTY IN MAY
HALF VICTIMS PEDESTRIANS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. In spite of the curtailment of motor traffic, road fatalities during May more than maintained the average of recent years, being 20 for the Dominion, compared with 19 in May of the previous years. Halt tne victims were pedestrians, eignt 01 whom were killed in town areas. Seven were drivers of vehicles, six of the pedestrian fatalities occurred at night. Only three of the accidents were in the South Island srid i! were in rural areas. Of the 17 in the North Island eight were in rural areas.
