AIRLINE CRASH
BODIES NOT OUT YET
RAIN DELAYS PARTY
(P A.) BLENHEIM, this day. Overtaken by darkness and heavy rain last night, the Mount Richmond party was again compelled to come out from the hills without the bodies of the victims of the airline crash.
The men reached the road about 9 o'clock after another arduous day and spent last night at Langley Dale The bodies had to be left at a point which is several hours' journey to the road.
The party hopes to complete the task to-day. However, the downpour continued throughout the night and the stream in the valley is in high flood. If the weather improves the expedition may set out again tomorrow.
It is stated that nothing in the wrecked plane is salvagable, fire having made a clean sweep of mail and freight. The of the impact was so great that parts of the airliner were scattered over an area of 200 yards.
