GALE AT WHANGAREI
(0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. A gale of similar intensity to that which caused damage at Waipu a week ago raged in Whangarei last night. The temperature rose to an abnormal 70 degrees. Two inches of rain fell, 1.1 inches doming down in half an hour. Prior to dawn the wind dropped and to-day is fine.
