Walter Jack Runciman, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Runciman, 19, Akarana Avenue, Mount Roskill, has gained his commission. Pilot-Officei Runciman, who is 21 years of age, left New Zealand in April, 1941, for Great Britain, where he was posted to the Bomber Ommand as captain of a Stirling bomber. He was educated at the Normal School and Mount Albert Grammar School.
