AUSTRALIA'S QUEST
Dr. Evatt Has Long Conference With Mr. Churchill United Press Association.—Copyright. Rec. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, May 6. A special dispatcn to the Associated Press says that although it is too early to forecast the result of Dr. Evatt's mission to London, there are already indications that following his representations to Mr. Chur-
chill and to the War Cabinet, Britain will do sometrnng more than a mere gesture to help in the Pacific.
_ Dr. Evatt had a lengthy conversation with Mr. Churchill at the weekend, and attended the War Cabinet and Pacific Council. He also met many British leaders. He was unsparing in his use of forcible language in order to impress members of the Government with Australia's vital needs at this critical period and his uncompromising answers to questions at a Ministry of Information Press conference made a deep impression.
It is no secret that he is largely concerned with questions of supply, and not the least value of his visit will be a greater mutual understanding between Britain and Australia of each other's difficulties.
