PRODUCTION DECLINE
POSITION IX ITALY
(P.A.) WELLINGTON this day. . It is said that Italian war production is little more than half what it was at the time of their entrv into the war states a communication received by the Associated Chambers of Commerce from the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire. A reduction in the monthly expenditure on the war bv Italy from seven milliard lire after their entry into the war to just under Vnfo ard lire towards the close of 1942 accounts for about 40 per cent r /I? output. Since the cream of the efficient labour force has been moved out of the countrv the efficiency of the individual is naturally lowered.
