No Special Leave For League Games; Only Six Senior Teams

" We cannot let men off for sport if it is not their week-end free. Jt would not be fair to my officers and men if special leave were granted for football." This statement was made in a letter to the Otahuhu Club, and was considered by the Auckland Rugby League Board of Control on Wednesday in conjunction with two other letters in the same strain from camps at Papakura and Avondale. The board decided that the chairman and secretary forward a letter in reply.

Captain Sykes, of the Oth A.S.C., Masterton, wrote asking if the League or a club could donate a set of football jerseys, as that camp's personnel comprised nearly all Aucklandcrs. Clubs are to be asked if they have any spare sets of jerseys. The chairman, Mr. J. \V. Watson, reported in committee upon a conference upon the question of club amalgamation. After a long debate it was resolved to adhere to the previous decision, that certain clubs must join together, leaving half a dozen teams in the senior competition.

Contests for Saturday:—Richmond v. Maniikau, Carlaw Park No. 1. :s p.m., Mr. G. Kcliv; Ponsonhv v. Otahuhu-City, Carlaw Park No. 1, 1.40 p.m., Mr. A. Pearson; North Shore-Marist v. .Mount Albert-New-ton, Carlaw Park No. 2, 3 p.m. Mr. S. Billman.
