OLD-TIMERS' PASSES
AUCKLAND LEAGUE DECISION
PROVISION AFTER FJFTV GAMES
The Rugby League Board of Control decided last evening to recognise the loyal services of players by issuing free passes to them according to their years of active participation. in the game. For 50 matches a player will receive a one-season's pass; 60, two seasons; 70, three seasons; and so on up to 100 games, with a limit of a six-years' pass to any player. The amalgamation of clubs was further discussed, and it was resolved to confirm the previous resolution, that they be:— North Shore-Marist, City-Otahuhu, Mount Albert-Newton (although Mount Albert did not approve of joining up with Newton). The other three senior sides are Richmond, Ponsonby and Manukau. The Junior Board notified that it will open the season on May 19. Also, that it had been decided to increase the weights in all junior grades by 51b, with no restriction on normal growth of players during season. The suspension by the Junior Board on D. Hutchinson last season was lifted to enable him to play senior for City this season. The chairman, Mr. J. W. Watson, announced that the Motor Transport Pool team had decided to play Rupby.
