DEATH OF MR. G. PERRY
MAYOR FOR 31 YEARS (P.A.) HOKITIKA, this day. The death has occurred of Mr. George Albert Perry, 0.8. E., Mayor of Hokitika for the past 31 years, after a short illness. He was aged 70 years. Mr. Perry filled many public positions, including those of chairman of the Harbour Board, member of the Westland Education Board and Borough Council, Mayor since 1911, president of the Hokitika Savings Bank and chairman of the Patriotic Council. He leaves a widow and grown-up family.
