OLD PIiAYKK HONOURED "There should be no loose distribution of life membership," said Mr. J. W. Watson at the weekly meeting of the Auckland League Board of Control when it. was proposed to recommend Mr. T. A. McClymont for life membership of the New Zealand Rugby League. Continuing Mr. Watson said he thought that Mr. McClymont was deserving of the honour and had fulfilled all the required qualifications. In answer to a question, the chairman said the Richmond's Club's application was in accordance with the rules governing life-membership. Both Messrs. R. Doble and T. Davis supported
the recommendation, and both drew attention to the long and faithful service Mr. McClymont had given to the oode. "As a selector, player and adviser." said Mr. Doble, "he has proved an outstanding personality in the code." In order to commence the season on April 18 with a preliminary round, the secretary. Mr. Ivan Culpan. reported that arrangements had been made to close nominations on Wednesday next, when the draw will be arranged. Mr. E. Chapman, chairman of the Junior control board, reported that a conference of all clubs would be held on April 14, and a report will be submitted regarding the possibilities in the Junior grades.
Mr. A. C. Gallagher was elected representative on the Referees Appointment Board. Notification was received of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby League on April 30. The election of delegates was deferred Mr. Watson extended a welcome to M. Hansen, a former captain of the Mount Albert Club, who recently returned from the Middle East campaign.
