FREEZING WORKERS APPEALS to he heard The Auckland Chamber of Commerce has communicated with the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, urging that the Manpower Committee should take immediate steps to have drafted into .the army the Westfield men concerned In the dispute, previously called up and exempted because they were engaged in an essential industry. On inquiry being made at the Auckland Manpower office this morning, it was stated that the committee would within the next few days be dealing with appeals affecting employees In the freezing industry, who had been called up in the ballot.. It was added that a number of the appeals had not yet had their initial hearing.
