mA^l* *2 Ben recei ved by Mrs. N. E. Gifford, of Dominion Road, that her husband Flight-Sergeant Emil Algernon Gifford has been killed by a bomb m Singapore. Flight-Sergeant Gifford who was 33 years of age, received his education at Avondale school and Seddon Memorial Technical College. He was a keen sportsman playing Rugby football for the Marathon Club. In 1928 he won the Northern Boxing Club's welterweight championihip, and he was also runner-up for the Auckland heavy-weight championship. u *' ead " a
