THEFT FROM TENT

PROBATION GRANTED

Probation for a term of three years was granted to William Frederick Pussell, aged 18, in the Supreme Court this morning when he appeared before Mr. Justice Callan. Pussell was remanded in custody last week for the theft of £30 from a tent at Runciman.

Mr. Hubble, who appeared for Pussell, and the probation officer, Mr. J. Anderson, stated that, from further inquiries made, they were led to believe that the story told to the Court by the accused was substantially true.

His Honor said that he did not think it necessary to impose Borstal detention. A condition of probation would be that the accused must not enter a billiard room during its term. , „T?J also to P av £25 at rate of a week during his period of Territorial training.
