CAIRO, December 17 Among the modern medical equipment used to treat most of the urgent New Zealand wounded from (he Libyan battlefields now in base hospitals are twelve specially-construc-ted fracture beds, given by Hollvwood film stars. These beds, whiSi in peacetime are part of the general equipment of the more important hospitals in New Zealand and oisewhere, are of modern design, wit* latest improvements.

They are already a gnu boon for the relief of suffering Built mainly of white-enamelled metal, the beds have at the head a brass plate with the donor's name engraved. Two have been given by Claudette Colbert and Randolph Scott, and one by each of the following: Anna Neagle, Amos and Andy, Bette Davis. Deanna Durbin, Kay Francis! Edward G. Robinson, Gary Cooner* Jeanette Mac Donald.
