HITLER'S OVERTURES? Reported Move To Win Over Timoshenko Rec. 1 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 21. The Mutual Broadcasting System w ld .? t was strongly rumoured in Washington that Hitler, realising that the Russian successes were endangering the whole of the Nazi fabric is endeavouring to contact Marsha i Timoshenko with the object of arranging an armistice and restoring all occupied Russia under Timoshenko's rule, thus ousting Stalin. This rumour has also reached Finland, where it has caused consternation to the Finns, who realise that such an armistice would mean the Russian reoccupation of Finland. The Mutual Broadcasting System points out that recent German communiques have significantly and repeatedly praised the skill and valour of the Russian military forces, and it is thought that Timoshenko is the only possible popular rival to Stalin. On the other hand. Timoshenko's personal loyalty and allegiance to Stalin have proved unwavering over a long period.
