CONSERVING PETROL
DAIRY INDUSTRY NEEDS
ELIMINATION OF WASTE
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Saturday.
Urgent consideration had been given to the provision of sufficient petrol for the essential requirements of the dairying industry, stated the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. J. G. Barclay, to-day. It had been arJ^ n S e d with the oil fuel controller tnat as far as possible supplies would be made available, but at the same time it was essential to secure maximum conservation of existing stocks, ana therefore the greatest possible economy was absolutely essential.
_ After consultation with the New Zealand Dairy Board and the New Zealand Farmers' Union, and with tneir emphatic endorsement, I appeal TO all dairy companies and individual Dairy farmers as an urgent war measure immediately to consider the Position with a view to effecting the greatest possible economy," said the Minister. "Dairy companies are reQuested to overhaul all transport services, including cream collection, wiiere other companies' services overlap, and to consider the provision of bulk milk collection services where such services would reduce consumption as compared with individual delivery.
