Tlnley—Jnrakovlch —The engaw. ment is announced between Catherine Violet, youngest daughter of Mr S. Jurakovich. of Kumeu. and Thomas Campbell Ttnley. R.N.Z.A.F., rider son of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Tinier of Grey Lynn. HARD OF HEARING LEAGUE The Auckland branch of the League for the Hard of Hearing held its Christmas party, when a number of items and conjuring turns were enjoyed by the audience. Most of them had tuned in on the group hearing aid and were able to hear very well. The evening ended with dancing- The league's branch of the Lady Galway Guild completed a year of fruitful work in dressmaking, renovating and knitting During the last term alone 80 good garments were cut out and made, and 167 knitted articles were completed. This was all done by a group of regular workers from among the hard of hearing, who meet and sew in the league rooms once a week.
