PACIFIC SOLIDARITY Netherlands And The Americas Declare War United Press Association.—Copyright. Rec. 12.30 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 8. The Netherlands Government has announced a state of war with Japan, and the Netherlands East Indies has declared war on Japan, accompanied by general mobilisation. The Government has invited the R.A.F. to station aircraft at strategic points in the Netherlands East Indies. A messaee from Batavia states that immediately on declaring war on Japan the Netherlands East Indies proclaimed a state of danger of air attack. Addressing the Netherlands East Indies people over the radio, the Governor-General, Dr. A. W. L Stachouwer, said: "The sudden Japanese attack on Britain and the United States, aims at establishing Japanese hegemony in the south ana south-east Pacific. Not in the last place is the Netherlands East Indies. Therefore the Netherlands East Indies accepts the Japanese challenge and takes up arms against Japan." Mobilisation of the outer possessions has been proclaimed and the internment of all Japanese subjects ordered. The mobilisation of the Netherland East Indies Army has been ordered.
