CREW OF SYDNEY
RELATIVES IX DOMINION
| Chief Petty-Officer Reginald McQueen, formerly of Whangarei, was a member of the crew of H.M. A.S. Sydney when the ship was lost. Advice that he is missing has been received by his parents in Whangarei. He joined the Royal Australian Navy 15 years ago, and was a member of the engine-room staff from the time the cruiser was commissioned. He is married and has two sons, his wife residing in Sydney. Mr. Victor Stear, who was known in Auckland musical circles some years ago, has been officially reported missing from H.M.A.S. Sydney. He was a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. G. Day, Masons Avenue, Heme Bay. He married in Auckland, where he lived for some years before joining the Australian Navy as a bandsman eleven years ago. His wife and family are in Australia.
