To Australia
We strain our hearts to tell What feelings swell Deep in them, kin and friend. There is no ivord to speak, There is no thought to send, For thought and word and look are all too weak. But we would seek To find some means to share Your courage and your care. We can but bend Our heads in posture meek, So noble was their end. Our kin and friend. —Cretan.
