ANOTHER £5000

MRS. MERRY'S ESTATE

BENEFICIARY IN CANADA

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday

Originally sworn at under £100,000, the estate of Mrs. A. Merry, who was found dead in her home at Cambridge Terrace, Wellington, has now been sworn for probate at under £105,000. Another prospective beneficiary has been found, bringing the total number to 11. She is a niece, Mrs. Hague, who formerly lived in New Zealand and now resides in Canada.

Application has now been filed in the Supreme Court for permanent letters of administration to appoint Mr. D. H. Hume, trust officer for the New Zealand Insurance Company, Ltd., as administrator, after which the matter will be dealt with as in an ordinary case of intestacy. When Mrs. Merry died there was nobody to take charge of some 50 properties in addition to heavy cash assets and debentures which she possessed. Five days after her death the Court made an order "ad bona rolligenda" as a temporary expedient which has continued from October 24 until the present application, which will be dealt with in chambers at the convenience of the judiciary.
