limited Women's Movement.—An address was given at the fortnightly luncheon by Mr. Pickes, his subject being "Women in Politics." Woman's sphere was in the home, said the speaker, but that did not mean her outlook should be narrow. Good homes were essential, and a certain amount of recreation and freedom from her children was necessary. * * * *
Woman's Progress Club.—At the jannual meeting of the Woman's Club of the Higher Thought Centre, the . following officers and Committee were elected:—President, ifMiss Irene Rutherford (re-elected): vice-presidents, Mrs. M. Stuart and rMrs. W. G. Young; secretary, Mrs. G. Gordon; assistant secretary, Mrs. Carder; treasurer, Mrs. C. F'sn; committee; Mesdames E. Drake, F. Hill, H. B. Skinner, F. Brinsmead, ana A. Morris; pianist, Mrs. S. Clarkson.
