TRIBUTES PAID
DETECTIVE FAREWELLE© Prior to his departure for Wellington yesterday, Detective-Sergeant P. J. Nalder. of Auckland, who has been appointed officer in charge of the Police Gazette, was presented with a dinner set by Sub-Inspector S. G. Hall, officer in charge of the Auckland detective staff. Mr. Hall, who presided over a large gathering of members of both branches of the force at the. central police station, spoke of Mr. Nalder's fine work as a detective officer, and referred to the ready assistance Mr. Nalder had given to others in the force. Speaking on behalf of the Magistrate's Court staff, Mr. H. G. Whyte said the magistrates had been greatly impressed by Mr. Nalder's work since he had been prosecutor in the Police Court.
