WESTFIELD SALES ! COWS KEENLY SOUGHT With prices on a par with recent rates there was a firm demand for an average yarding of ox beef at the weekly Westfield fat stock sales to-day. Bidding was 1 brisk and all classes were disposed of readily. Top price for steers was £15 12/6. Cows and heifers came forward in average numbers, a free sale resulting. Prices were well maintained, with a tendency to rise on recent rates. AUCTIONEERS* REPORT Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons. Cows and heifers were also yarded in averace numbsrs and again values ruled on a par with late quotations. Extra choice ox sold to 41/ per 1001b: choice and prime ox. 38 to 40': ordinary and plain. 34/ to 36 - Extra prime young cow and heifer beef. 33/ to 37/; choice and .prime. 30/ to 31/: ordinary cow beef. 25/ to 29.'. Extra heavy prime steers rtnged in price from £15 to £15 12-6: heavy prime steers. £14 5' to £14 IS,: lighter prime steers. £13 7/# to £14: light prime steers. £11 10 to £12 10 : small and unfinished steers. £7 10 to £11.
