COMBATS OVER LIBYA British Aircraft Continue Raids On Axis Bases British omclal Wireless. Rec. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, Dec. 2. An R.A.F. Middle East communique states: "Enemy tanks, armoured fighting vehicles and motor transport in the battle area in Libya were successfully attacked by our bombers yesterday. At Sidi Rezegh. where Free French aircraft took part in the operation, a fire with clouds of black smoke broke out. "To the north of Sidi Rezegh many enemy vehicles were destroyed by bombers of the South African Air Force. Supply dumps at Bardia were also bombed, and one violeftt explosion was felt by our ai-craft at a height of 5000 ft. Large fires followed the attack. "In aerial combat over the battlefield our fighters shot down three Messerschmitts 109, two Junkers 88 and three Giovannis 50. Other aircraft encountered were severelv damaged. "The moles, harbour installations and shipping at Bengasi were again raided during Sunday night. Direct hits were obtained on the Juliana and central moles, and fires and explosions were observed among railway sidings and military buildings."
