THAILAND'S PERIL
RUSHING DEFENCES Japanese Report Alleges Britain Plans Invasion United Press Association.—Copyright. Rec. 2.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 2. Thailand is rushing large-scale defence preparations, reports the Associated Press Bangkok correspondent. Air raid shelters are being constructed at many street junctions and plans have been prepared for the evacuation of women and children from the city.
A Domei news agency dispatch from Bangkok says Australian, British and Indian troops are getting ready for an invasion, and adds that the indications are that Britain herself is now seeking to invade Thailand. The agency says this move is regarded by observers as similar to the action taken by Britain in Libya, Iran and Iraq. The Domei correspondent asserted that Thailand had fallen for the propaganda and had concentrated its main forces on the Indo-China frontier.
