Slow. Nazi Progress On The

Moscow Front

LONDON, Nov. 28.

The Moscow newspaper Pravda. in a dispatch from the front, savs Russian units have halted the enemv after heavy fighting in the Stalinogoi.sk area, south-east of Tula All attacks were repulsed and the main positions retained. The enemy in the Klin sector did not succeed in breaking southward. The Germans between November 16 and 25 lost 3JO tanks in the approaches to Moscow.

The Russian night communique states: "On Thursday 'our troops engaged the enemy on all fronts. On \\ ednesday 19 German aircraft were destroyed. We lost four. On Thursday lo German aircraft were shot down near Moscow "

The Moscow radio reports that the Germans have increased their artillery and mortar activity on the Tula front. In Stalinogorsk they have thrown three tank and three infantry divisions into the battle. On \Vednesday the Russian Air Force destroyed 105 tanks and about 600 lorries laden with soldiers.

The huge losses sustained by the Germans are confirmed by prisoners One reports that his division lost on November 10 and 11 200 tanks and a quarter of its total lorries.

The Russian midday communique merely records fighting on all fronts last night and little fresh information is available in London, where it is known that pressure on the Moscow front continues, with the Germans making only slow, slight progress and heavy Russian counterattacks are still being delivered in the Rostov sector.
