EMPIRE OR COMMONWEALTH
I wonder whether any authority would care to give us an official pronouncement on these terms, wfaette they are merely different nairifg fgr the same areas and populations. * whether the Commonwealth is otfr part of the Empire, as many soakers appear to assume. The seems to be worth investigating, for we never hear of a member of the Labour party using the ten tmpire, whereas many others never speak of the Commonwealth. Thi« was particularly noticeable at one tiff the Prime Minister s farewell gatherings before leaving for his recent trjp. There were four or five speak* ers, and each expressed his hopes f 2 r what Mr. Fraser would do for the Empire, but in his reply the Prune Minister never mentioned the Empire, while making several references to the Commonwealth. ACCURACY.
