CASE FOR INSPECTORS
DEPUTATION TO BOARD A deputation representative of the Transport Board Inspectors' Union waited on the Auckland Transport Board this morning with a request for the granting to inspectors of double time on Sundays, Christmas Day, Anzac Day and Good Friday. Mr. P. Richardson said that the gap between wages paid to the rank and file and the inspectors was closing rapidly, and that the inspectors should have greater consideration.
Mr. F. E. Martin said that if inspectors remained on their present wage they would be in the position of receiving less wages a year than some motormen and switchmen. He pointed out that inspectors worked every alternate Sunday, while the rank and file worked" only everv third Sunday.
The request was referred to the board's assessors for report.
