MARKET REOPENS FIRMLY GAIN IS OIjD WAR IX)AN A firm tone, with business fairly quiet, prevailed on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day. A parcel of the original War Ix>an was reported sold at a further gain of one-eighth, but more of the stock was available at that price. A similar rise took place in the 1943-46 4 per cent stock, whirh was active last week. Banks and insurances were steady, sellers of the latter being mostly off the market. Electrolytic Zincs had better offers at £2 10/ but other leading Australians were little changed.
