Five Killed In Motor Car Crash
RAURIMU TRAGEDY » s Dance Party Falls 100 Feet Into Mountain Stream (0.C.) TAUMARUNUI, this day. Five people were killed when the car in which they were travelling went over a bank and dropped 100 feet into a stream about ten miles from Raurimu about three o'clock this morning. The victims were:— Richard Henry Price, sawmill worker, of Manunui, married, with three children. Grace Amelia Price, his wife. Una Humphrey, married, of Manunui. Andrew Pattison, sawmill worker, 19, owner of the car, son of Mr. Andrew Pattison, storekeeper, Manunui. Cyril Dixon, insurance agent, married, of Taumarunui. The party was returning in a sedan car to Manunui from a dance at Kaitieke, when the car went over a bank at a spot about 1 0 miles from Raurimu, between Raurimu and' Kaitieke. The car dropped about 100 feet, landing upside down in a stream in four to six feet of water. The occupants were all killed. A passing carrier discovered the car about eight o'clock this morning.
