French Constitution Of The Future REMAIN REPUBLIC Roc. 2 p.m. VICHY, Oct. 17. The committee of the French National Council which was entrusted by Petain to draft a new constitution, has recommended that France should remain a republic without authoritarian dictatorship or a monarchy.
