EXMOUTH STREET PLAYGROUND
Most of us who live near this pvk are anxious to see it finished, as M will be an acquisition to this put pi the city, but we are sorry to to some people criticising the profr— made by the council and stall. Stan last November an unsightly fully has given place to a well-levcUac playground. Six houses have bMB removed and 2000 running feet Of new sewerage and about 16,000(1.01 filling have been put in. Althoooil the majority of the near resident*; are watching the construction with interest, there are a few who can plained that the "bulldozer" waiM. ing at night kept them awake. According to the progress made, then is every indication that the ptayground will be in fair order by flit end of this summer, which will bf very satisfactory considering tki difficulties which have been ow come. We hope that the ooundl:, will carry on the good workbjrri*ing some extra attention to Vwt Street, into which the playgrauM opens at the lower end. V RATEPAYER.
