C. MAY, THE OPEN CHAMPtON B. SINEL IS MOST SCIENTIFIC The annual boxing championships of the Takapuna Grammar School were held on the open field yesterday. The championship was won by C. May while senior B. Sinel was judged the most scientific boxer. The results were: — Under 6st 71b.—Semi-final: Kronfeld (6.4) beat Sussex (6.3%). Semi-final: W. Reed (6.2 V&) beat Armitage (6.6%). Final: Reed beat Kronfeld. Under 7st 71b—Semi-finals: L. Craig (7.4) beat Miller (7.0); G. Reed (.7.3%) beat Harris (7.4). Final: Reed beat Craig. Under Bst. —Semi-final: Scobie (7.10) beat Schultze (7.7.). Final: Scobie beat Thompson (7.8). Under Bst 71b.—Semi-final: R. May (8.6) beat B. Thomas (8.0%). Final: I. Gray (8.4) beat May. Under 9st.—Semi-final: Sutherland (8.13%) beat Price (8.11%). Final: Catley (8.7%) won by default. Sutherland having injured his hand. Under 9.7.—Semi-final: Sinel (9.2) beat Ross (9.5) on a t.k.o. Final: Sinel beat McDermott (9.4%), by a k.o. Open championship.—C. May (10.1) beat J. M. Foreman (10.10).
