LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE DECIDED ON SATURDAY
A decision that the 6enior League competition be concluded on Saturday was made at the committee meeting last night. North Shore, now one point clear of Manukau, will play Newton, and Manukau meets Mount Albert.
Discussing the Roope Rooster competition, played under a knock-out system, it was decided to accept ten club nominations. On Saturday week, the dare of the Auckland v. Maoris game, the three lowest teams, and Otahuhu, will take part in the fiißt round. Mr. Campbell said that Otahuhu had made a previous application for acceptance, and, having won the senior B section it was fully entitled to admission.
Permission was granted the Richmond senior grade team to play a match at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, next Saturday. Messrs. J. McGregor, W. Rodwell and W. R. Dick were approved of as officials representing Che Richmond Club.
Teams nominated lor the Roope Booster competition:—Manukau. Ponsonbv. Mar Ist, Citv, rapakura. North Shore. Richmond. Mount Albert. Newton, Otahuhu.
Championship fixtures for Saturday (final series):—Senior grade: Manukau v. Mount Albert, Carlaw Park. No. 1. 3 p.m.. Mr. G. Kelly: Newton v. North Shore. Carlaw Park No. 1, 1.40 p.m., Mr. J. Donovan; City v. Marist. Carlaw Park No. 3, 3 p.m.. Mr. A. Pearson: Ponsonby v. Papakura, Carlaw Park No. 2. 1.40 p.m.. Mr. T. Evans.
