A decrease of £9318 is shown in the profit of Winchcombe, Carson, Ltd., woolbrokers. etc., of Sydney, for the year ended June 30. Profit is stated at £43.908. against £53,226 last year. Additional provision for taxation, the directors state, was responsible for lower net earnings. Dividend, unchanged, at 7 per cent requires £38,500; £7500 is transferred to reserve, leaving £9620 to carry forward, against £11,711 brought in. Drought experienced in New South Wales and the southern area of Queensland last year, resulting in a smaller wool clip, is reflected In fewer bales handled by the company. Assurance of a return for each season's clip under the British contract is a boon to the woolgrowing industry, the directors state.
