Briefly describing the system, Xr Perry said that the board was advertising for another doctor who wobH be placed at Kohu Kohu inching a sub-clinic to be established then In the original social security o» posals, anyone residing more tin 20 miles from the doctor had to nt his travelling expenses, but mK the system adopted all residents receive free treatment irrespective tf geographical position.

The board would employ two fetors and the present three dlßtfa nurses would be increased tor j further three. It will be the duty tf the nurses to call on all who conplain of illness. Should the case need a doctor's attention and the piH is unable to travel, he or she woaiM have to go to either the Rum Hospital or the Kohu Kofau afcclinic. Where a patient is too 111 to travel, a doctor would be by the nurses. Mr. Perry referred to the excellent attention and asrigtam* given the board by Mr. C. W. Bov.ell, M.P.

Dr. G. M. Smith, medical superintendent of the Hokianga Hospital, said this morning that the system, based on the hospital ml under the control of the board, tad been established in the county. "Ib medical men included in the sdvne will work in collaboration and will be assisted by the present staff tf three district nurses with tim further nurses.'' he said. "Tit system will work in collaboration with the Health Department and include all branches of curative and preventive medicine."
