MR. R. A. SPINLEY'S DEATH

A prominent Auckland accuuojßK and auditor, Mr. Robert Arthur Spin ley, died suddenly last night at his residence, Princes Court, Priatrs Street, at the age of 53. Mr. Spinier, who was bom at Devonport, tod wide business and sporting assooations in Auckland. He was a farmer president of the New Zealand Accountants and Auditors' Association. and had been practising on to own account for about 25 years as well as holding the position of secretary for several companies.

Mr. Spinley's interest in sport*as varied and long-standing. In to younger days he was a keen rower, and was for many years secretary of the North Shore Rowing Club. He was a foundation member of the North Shore Golf Club, and *X 5 auditor for a large number of sporting bodies on the North Shore and elsewhere in Auckland. Mr. Spintey was formerly secretary of the Ttfapuna Jockey* Club, and was secretuj of the Auckland Rugby League frcra 1914 to 1918, being closely associated with the formation of Carlaw Park. Mr. Spinley was secretary of tilt Reform party in the Wai tenia ta electorate for a number of years, and later was electoral secretary t® JfrA. Harris, former member for the constituency. He was a former member of the Devonport Borough Council, and was ■ secretary-treasurer of the Territorial Association. Interested in Masonic affairs. Mr. Spink?' was secretary of the Rangitoto Arch Chapter. He is survived If his wife.

Formerly widely known ** expert saiimaker, Mr. John Edwaro Dickson has died in Auckland at tot age of 75. Mr. Dickson lived near# all his life in Upper Vincent StreetCity. Originally, he was in business as a saiimaker with his brother. * r■T. W. Dickson, who now lives Melbourne, but later carried on on his own account. Particularly interested in rowing.
