RECRUITING PLANS

TRAINING TO BEGIN SOON

A Dominion-wide recruiting cam-; paign for youths between 16i and 18 years for the recently-established Air Training Corps is to be launched in Auckland on Monday next. Several hundred have already enrolled for the Auckland squadron and it is hoped to enlist sufficient to create additional units in the city.

ling in aviation subjects to lads who] I later intend offering their services] for the Air Force, the Fleet Air Arm.! jor who contemplate entering civil! laviation. This junior air training! [scheme is similar to those in opera-j |tion in other parts of the Empire. |It is anticipated that training will jbegin in the four main centres durling the next few weeks.

Thus every lad. irrespective of his place of residence, will have the opportunity of joining the corps. A feature of the campaign will be a special display in the store of Milne and Choyce, Limited, next week | Exhibits from the Hobsonville and, ijWhenuapai stations are to include a trainer type of aircraft to be assembled inside the store, various Itypes of aircraft engines, working jexhibits from the instrument and iphotographic sections, and manv; 'others illustrative of the work ofi |the Royal New Zealand Air Force. ■ Operational photographs from the' |United Kingdom and Canada are| lalso to be included. i

'recruits and intending recruits for jthe Air Training Corps are to be, igiven the opportunity to see phases! of the practical work of the air force | It is anticipated that some 500 lads will be taken by boat to Hobsonvillc and later in the afternoon will go to YVhenuapai.
