AUCKLAND TROTS NEXT SATURDAY

The Auckland Trotting Club's August meeting, which would have been held this afternoon if persistebt rain throughout the week, and particularly last night, had not rendered it impracticable, is now scheduled to take place next Saturday, the necessary authority having been received from the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, and the New Zealand Trotting Conference.

As it was apparent early that a postponement might be necessary, the committee of the club wisely decided to send out scouts to outlying centres to appraise trainers immediately a decision was arrived at. The result was that no great inconvenience was caused, although many followers of the sport were, no doubt, disappointed.
