A cable received bv Mrs. K. M Garland, of 10. Sharpe Road. Kpsom. from the Air Ministry, indicates that, according to advice from the Foreign Office, her only son. Pilot-Officer Douglas Wcstland Garland, was interned in Algiers. In his last letter he stated that he was flying a Wellington bomber on raids over Germany. No advice had been received that he was missing. A nephew of Dr. L. T. Buxton administrator of St. Patrick's Cathedral, and a grandson of Mr G J Garland, of Auckland, Pilot-Officer Garland was born in Auckland 22 years ago. He was educated at Kings School and Si.
