Mr. Percv Peers Caff
The death of Mr. Percy ("Puss'l Peers Cuff, which occurred at Christchurch this week, would recal to the minds of Southland footballers of earlier days, such as Messrs. J. W. Stead and Isaac Jenkins, manv thrilling encounters on the field of Rugby. Mr. Cuff was a foundation member of the bwr Club, which was founded in the year ISS6. He had a brilliant career asj footballer and was one of the Desi half-backs ever to represent the province of Southland. He wore trw representative jersey for seven ivears. from ISS7 (the year o / 1 ?* "first Southland side) until 1894. w . I 1893 he captained the side on h* I first tour of the South Island. M* was emploved by the New Zealano Railwavs Department and in «»» was transferred from InvercargUi w the north.
