Ominous Crisis May Involve Menzies And Curtin United Tress Association.- Copyright. Rec. 11 a.m. SYDNEY, this day. 1 he Sydney Sun Melbourne correspondent says that the leaderships of both Mr. R. CI. Menzies. Federal I rime Minister, and Mr. J. Curtin Leader or the Opposition, are now threatened in the crisis which is developing ominously from the proposal that Mr. Menzies should ao to London. Influential Labour members are angered by Mr. Curtin's support for Mr. Menzies, while rebel Government members are watching for a chance to displace their leader and further their own political ambitions.
Thus against the clouded background of the Far Eastern situation Mr. Menzies and Mr. Curtin stand at the cross-roads of their political careers.
