GALLANT LEADER
AUSTRALIAN AWARDED D.S.O. British Official Wireless. Rec. 2.30 p.m. RUGBY, Aug. 8. The award of the D.S.O. to Captain William Forbes, of the Australian military forces, was announced to-day. It was the result of gallant and determined leadership which Captain Forbes showed when in command of a raid at Tobruk in April, which resulted in the capture of an enemy battery and 368 prisoners. Captain Forbes was in charge of operations and personally led his men in the final assault.
