KNOCK-ON AND REBOUND
Rugby rules draw a difference between a knock-on and a rebound, and that is why Hugh McLean was railed back after his first try last Saturday. A knock-on occurs when the ball, after striking the hand or arm of a player travels in the direction of his opponents' dead ball line. ... A rebound occurs v.ien the ball after striking any part of a player except his hand, arm or leg from the knee to the toe inclusive, travels in the direction of his opponents' dead ball line. The referee held that McLean in smothering the relieving kick did so with his arm.
