REPORTED MISSING
TWO AIR FORCE PILOTS Reported missing on air operations. Pilot-Officer Mervyn Sydney Lund is a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Lund, 37, Bellevue Road, Mount Eden, and a younger brother of C. P. Lund. well-known Auckland cricketer and Rugby footballer. Pilot-Officer Lund, who is aged 23. was educated at the Newmarket School and the Seddon Memorial Technical College. He entered the service of the Pensions Department and before he enlisted was studying accountancy at Auckland University College. He played cricket for Y.M.C.A. and Rugby for Grafton. After undergoing training at Levin, New Plymouth and Blenheim, he left for England in October last year with the rank of pilot-officer.
A member of the New Zealand Fighter Squadron. Sergeant-Pilot Jack Maney, aged 23. only son of Mrs. E. Maney, of 48. Shelly Beach Road, has been reported missing as a result of air operations on Julv 24.
